CONTROL Preproduction-Props lookdev

Here are a bunch of research from the preproduction of CONTROL.
Sadly i kept very little.
Those are more 3D concepts than props, some ended up in the game but the point was to research the visual style for objects used by the FBC. We ended up with a strong vintage almost "low tech" style for the objects. I tried to research a lot old computers, equipments etc...
I especially liked to do the instruction manuals and stickers for those as sometimes they would obviously make very little sense.

This one is the first prop we ever did for CONTROL. It was some sort of an occult lock/keaypad/clock. Concept by Stuart Macdonald.

That one would be standard typewriter FBC issue. I think the second prop i did because it was to be used heavily.

This is the front panel of a seismograph that could be transported in one of those boxes by the rangers.

This is a research for the crucibles in containment, that were used to lock objects of power. The idea is that the FBC would have used them forever to store dangerous things. I made 5 different designs as they would have updated them throughout the years.

That phonograph was supposed to be used around the control points to monitor them.

That's an oldie as well, we decided very early on that the FBC would use punchcards heavily for all sorts of things, so we designed machines they would use to make them. Concept by Stuart Macdonald.
